Anti Explorer is a small piece of code you can place in your site’s HTML which stops Microsoft Internet Explorer (MSIE / Explorer) from rendering your page. Along-side this, a notification alerts the user he is using MSIE and prompts him / her to download Firefox instead.

I wish all the high traffic websites (google.com, youtube.com, myspace.com, facebook.com, twitter.com, cnn.com, etc) would implement a script detecting what browser a user was using. If IE was detected, it would display:
“Sorry, this page cannot be displayed.
You are using a non-standards compliant web browser – Internet Explorer. Click here for a list of standard compliant browsers from which you can choose from and download.”
With the amount of traffic those sites get, Microsoft Internet Explorer would be wiped from the browser market within a matter of days.

Most people who hate IE are web developers like myself, or people who know about how the web works.
Most people who love IE are non-techy users who don’t know any better, and use it just because it came with their OS.
As time progresses the average user will inevitably become more aware and technically adept, thereby realizing how shitty IE is. Then they will turn to more efficient, smart, and safe browser alternatives.

Chrome has the best design IMO. Firefox is only good with addons like AdBlock Plus, but just wait till Chrome gets its addons to work…then I’ll probably abandon Firefox. Opera is decent and is also getting better with the introduction of Opera Unite. I hate Safari for forfeiting its download as update, but it’s standard compliant. IE is slow and insecure. It doesn’t have any strong point like the other browsers have.

Mostly, I HAVE to use IE for going to my game, but on any thing else I use Mozilla/Firefox. IE has many bugs in its system, and it has security holes in it. Firefox, of course, it has no holes. IE doesnt have a skinning program. Firefox does. If Firefox, the free browser is made by a ton of good web devs, then why does IE suck? Oh, I know, Security holes and ActiveX Control. M$IE. The Intergrated Web Browser.

As a web devoloper… I have to say it is the biggest pain to make anything for IE. IE is also 120% non- web standards compliant, and IE’s Security sucks ballsack. try going a day without a drive-by download using IE. Firefox blocks it out and warns you about the website. IE sits there and gives you virus’s.. YAY. I LOVE SPYWARE.

IE freez too often and IE6 has been a nightmare. I dnt say Firefox is perfect but its way better than IE. Cheers
